Frequently asked questions

Know what to expect.

Clear answers about sessions, virtual and in-person learning, privacy, group training, and what Talbert Tech does—and does not—provide.

Sessions and learning

Do I need to be good with computers?

No. Sessions begin with what you want to accomplish and explain the steps in practical, respectful language. You will see the task, practice it with guidance, and then try it more independently.

What can I ask for help with?

You can bring a specific task within Personal Tech Help, AI Made Simple, Digital Safety & Scam Awareness, or Work & Career Technology. The service pages include examples to help you choose.

What happens during a session?

Talbert Tech uses Show It → Do It Together → Do It Yourself. The instructor demonstrates the task, guides you while you complete it, and gives you space to try it with minimal help. A quick-reference resource may be provided when appropriate.

Can I book help for a parent or family member?

You may inquire about arranging a session for another adult. The participant should be involved in choosing the learning goal and will remain in control of their own device, accounts, and private information.

Virtual and in-person

Can you see my screen during a virtual session?

Screen sharing may be used when practical on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams. Talbert Tech can guide you through sharing your screen if needed. You decide when to share and can stop sharing at any time.

Do you remotely control my device?

No. Talbert Tech does not remotely control client devices. You operate your own device and complete the steps yourself with guidance.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

Yes, in-person sessions may be available within the local service area. The exact service boundary is confirmed before the appointment, and additional travel fees may apply outside the standard service area.

What should I bring to my session?

Bring the device you want to learn on and be ready to describe the task you want to complete. If the task involves an account, you should enter your own sign-in details privately.

Privacy and safety

Do you need my passwords or authentication codes?

No. Never send or say your passwords, banking passwords, Social Security number, full card number, authentication codes, security answers, or other sensitive credentials. You enter private information yourself.

Do you repair computers?

No. Talbert Tech provides education and coaching. It does not provide hardware repair, computer repair, managed IT, advanced network troubleshooting, account bypassing, or unauthorized access.

Does digital-safety training guarantee protection?

No. Training is designed to improve awareness and decision-making, but it cannot guarantee cybersecurity protection.

Groups and organizations

Can two or three people learn together?

Yes. Small-group training is available for approximately two to five participants, including friends, couples, family members, coworkers, and neighbors.

Do you provide training for organizations?

Yes. Talbert Tech offers customized virtual or in-person workshops for businesses, community organizations, churches, associations, libraries, workforce programs, residential communities, nonprofits, and employee groups. Organizational pricing is provided by custom quote.

Is the free consultation a support session?

No. The free 15-minute consultation is a short introductory conversation to understand your learning goal, device or application, and the most suitable service. It is not a free technology-support session.
